The tell tale hands of a carpenter. A life of crafting, can be read in every scar. Koli Fisher has been working as a carpenter and builder for nearly 20 years. But it was an experience with some left over wood scraps on a job site that his passion was born. Collecting the pieces, he made a chess board and for the first time, connected the artistry of woodworking with his building experience.
"Working with my hands is as natural as breathing to me. I love the idea of marrying beauty and utility. Trees have been a primary building backbone for thousands of years. I'm humbled to work with such a material and feel incredibly moved by the history of the craft as well as the living beauty of the wood."
Koli's home and workshop are in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. He owns a construction company that specializes in small projects and is married to the love of his life. Together, they're raising their six children to think like artists and speak for the trees.
